The Gods’ Nectar or Fox Farm Soil?
Nectar for the Gods and FoxFarm mediums are two of the most talked-about items at the Indoor Earthworm. Both of these "mediums" have exactly what your plants need to grow strong and healthy in pots, raised beds, or hydroponically, indoors or out. Both companies use coir fiber instead of peat moss and perlite in their mixes. Coir fiber is made from the flexible shell of a coconut. This mix of ingredients can be used over a long period of time. It helps the earth hold the water it needs while letting it breathe, which leads to fast root growth, which is what plants need to get bigger and denser. Growers of foods that bring in a lot of money trust both names.

Farm Soil Fox
Since 1984, FoxFarm has been in business in Humboldt County, California, making soil and nutrients that still have bacteria that are good for plants. All ten of their soil mixes are tried in the FoxFarm nursery to make sure they are all of the same high quality. There are blends for all kinds of plants, from seeds to fruits to flowers in hanging baskets.
FoxFarm's Original Planting Mix can be used in the ground or in pots, and neither it nor the famous Ocean Forest Potting Soil contains coconut coir, which is the norm. In addition to peat moss, both of these mixes have old wood goods and worm castings. There is also bat guano, fish emulsion, and crab meal in Ocean Forest Potting Soil.
Nectar for the Gods
Oregon's Only has been making Nectar for the Gods in small batches of four cubic yards each for more than 20 years. The special thing about their four different blends is that they use Oregon roof flow rainwater to rinse the coir fiber. The earth gets more nitrates, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, and sodium from rainwater, which is lighter and slightly acidic. Because the high amount of salt is bad for the plants, the pH is balanced by adding limestone.
At the moment, there are two more kinds of Nectar for God's soilless medium in addition to the basic mix, which helps meet the needs of different plants. Blend #2 is made for hydroponics, but you can also plant straight in it. It has perlite, yucca meal, basalt, and mycorrhizal fungus added to it. This mix is safe to use every day. Blend #7 is a coir fiber with a pH of 7. Slowly got wet and washed with rainwater from Oregon on-site to get rid of any salts. Made to be used with hydroponics or to put straight in.
Blend #4 of Nectar for the Gods
Blend #4 is the most famous. It has no wood or filler and is made of sphagnum peat moss from Lithuania, perlite, pumice, kelp meal, bone meal, diatomaceous earth, clay, basalt, oyster shell (for pH adjustment), humus, and lime (for pH adjustment). It can take up to 30 days to wake up, break down, and go to sleep. This standard potting soil can be used both inside and outside when plants need more food. Blend #4 was made by Nectar for the Gods because mass-produced and low-quality grounds were not always the same.
The Gods' Sweetener Blend #8
Nectar of the Gods Blend #8 is the same as Blend #4, except that 55% of it is perlite. This helps the soil drain better and makes it lighter.
The Ocean Forest mix from FoxFarm and #4 from Nectar for the Gods are the two soils that are most interchangeable with each other. Both are mixes that can be used for many different things. Professional gardeners who grow high-yield, high-dollar crops use them a lot.
At different stages of a plant's growth, it is important to check the pH of the soil mix you choose. If it is too high or too low, you may need to add different nutrients or move the plant to a different soil.
